XL Travel join forces with Marriott


This season we can confirm in advance that all groups will be accommodated in the excellent Manchester Airport Marriott Hotel, subject to availability.  A number of our Soccer Fanatic groups have stayed at the Marriott in the leafy village of Hale Barns before.  Hale Barns and neighboring Hale are home to many of the Premier League players and managers, and you will find lots of privately run restaurants, bars and pubs to keep you entertained.

Soccer Fanatic Weekends Pre-release
Four days after the provisional Premier League fixture list was published we are happy to offer you a sneak preview of this season’s Soccer Fanatic Weekends.  Simply click on the links on the left of this page to view the first drafts of itineraries for October, Thanksgiving, New Year’s Eve and Easter.

Now that the Premier League has published the fixture list the television companies are given 2 weeks to make their own amendments to fixture dates and times.  Therefore the Soccer Fanatic Weekend packages on this page are still only provisional until mid July, although they are very unlikely to change significantly.

We advise you to book your trip early as all of last season’s Soccer Fanatic Weekends sold out way in advance.  You can pre-book now by clicking the Book Now option, with the option of a full refund if you decide to cancel before the season starts on Saturday 16 August.

Thank you to everyone for making the last EPL season XLT’s biggest and most successful to date. Not only did we take you to some of the most exciting games of the season, but we got to meet some wonderful people and had great fun with you all.

The new EPL fixtures for the 2008-9 season will be released June 16th so we will have our Soccer Fanatic Weekend calender out shortly after that ready for you to book.
So clear your calender for the following dates as last year we sold out each trip VERY early:

  • Canadian Thanksgiving trip: October 10th - 13th
  • US Thanksgiving Trip: Nov 28th - Dec 1st
  • New Year Trip: Dec 28th - Jan 2nd
  • Easter Trip: April 10th - 15th

Last season’s winner however was XLT’s Grazz with Andy Moir from MPS second and our very own Jon a respectable third. So with XL having 2 out of the top 3, the gauntlet has been thrown down for next season.
